APPLICATIONS
Gear Boxes
Moisture reacts with EP additives in oils, generating sulfuric and / or phosphoric acids. These acids attack the surfaces of gears and bearings, weakening it and finally generating fractures that make proper lubrication impossible.
Prevent moisture ingress and remove residual moisture from your gearboxes with Magnus Breathers
Storage reservoirs
Studies indicate that more than 30% of the contamination of an oil occurs before even starting to work. Make sure your oils stay clean and dry during storage to avoid damaging abrasive wear and corrosion.
Hydraulic reservoirs
The condensation of moisture in hydraulic tanks make small water droplets that mix with the hydraulic oil. Many of these oils have fatty acids that react with moisture, causing corrosion.
Likewise, solid particles favor abrasive wear on pumps and valves.
Bearing boxes.
Bearing boxes tend to withstand extremely high loads and work in hydrodynamic regimes. In these conditions any contamination is harmful.
